NPIA COVENTRY
This has been a very exciting time for The National Association of Muslim Police. We are continuing to expand very quickly. We currently have 6 Association of Muslim Police branches across England, Wales and Scotland. Insha'allah this will be extended by 8 shortly, making a total of 14 AMP's in the Police service.
The National Association of Muslim Police are proud to be asked to comment on key issues and have recently submitted a paper to the Home Affairs Select Committee on Counter Terrorism. This paper asked for a review of issues that directly relate to our members such as increasing the number of Muslims in Specialist Departments including the Counter Terrorist Commands around the country, a review of vetting for sensitive roles and to ensure Islamophobia crime is properly recorded and investigated.
The National Association of Muslim Police Continue to meet with the Police Minister Mr Tony McNulty MP. These meetings give an opportunity for the executive to share the concerns of Muslim Officers and Staff directly with the Government.
We all need to be proud of what The National Association of Muslim Police has achieved in a very short space of time. We must remain united and disciplined to ensure we work together for the UMMAH and the good of the police service.
